ittyMIDI.com was founded as
the Music Division of
MicroTools Inc in early 2001
with a mission to provide the performing musician with resources
to enhance the quality of their performances and increase the
efficiency of their gear.
MicroTools was founded in
1988 by two Aerospace Engineers to provide software development
consulting and a line of testing products for real-time, embedded
systems. MicroTools services
many different industries including glass manufacturing, mail
processing, wind power generation, food preparation and petroleum
monitoring. Our motto is, "If it's not tested, it doesn't work!"
MicroTools hired Andrew
Springman in 1997, appointing him to lead the
Music Division in 2001.
Andrew brought a background in mobile computing and music.
He hailed from Telepartner International, a wireless and WAN
communications software company servicing the Fortune 500, where
he was both a developer and manager of the technical support
department. Andrew is also a classically trained musician,
composer and studied experimental and electronic music under Ron
Kuivila at Wesleyan University. In 2002, Andrew has also
formed his own venture, Kingdom Arts & Technology, a music and
audio production company.
MicroTools released
ittyMIDI Player in 2001. ittyMIDI
Player, combined with the natural advantages of the Palm OS®
platform, provides the performer and student with a powerful tool
that is small, inexpensive, reliable, high-capacity, expandable,
quick and easy to use. MicroTools Music
Division continues to develop tools for the musician
which take further advantage of mobile computing, inexpensive
non-dedicated hardware and the flexibility of technologies such as
MIDI. We are committed to continually improve
ittyMIDI.com to help you, the
musician, practice and perform your music.
