General MIDI?
General MIDI (GM) defines a set of sounds that
synthesizer can make. This allows the same MIDI file to be
played back on two different GM synthesizers. The quality
may vary but a flute will be a flute and a harp will be a
harp, etc.

How many MIDI files can I hold on my Handheld PDA?
Commercial MIDI files commonly range between 20K-100K. So
you can expect to hold around 30 songs per MegaByte (MB).
Most recent Palm OS® devices come with at least 8MB, so you can expect
to hold 240 or more depending on what other applications you
have. If your model has an SD card or Memory Stick expansion slot, there
is no limit to the number of songs you can take with you.

What is the maximum size for a MIDI file that can be
transferred onto the PDA?
The size of an individual MIDI file is limited to about 2.4 MB.

Do you support a USB connection as opposed to a Serial
connection?
ittyMIDI Player Player requires serial vs. USB, however
most Handheld companies have a serial cable or cradle
available online for their USB models.

Am I
allowed to beam songs to other PDA's?
You can beam any book of songs from the playlist screen. Please be
aware that MIDI files are protected by copyright laws in
most countries.

Am I
allowed to beam playlists to other PDA's?
You can beam a playlist from the playlist screen. For the
receiving handheld to be able to play the songs, it must have
the correct source books for those files.

Am I allowed to edit the MIDI files on my PDA handheld?
ittyMIDI Player allows nondestructive editing of volume,
tempo, channels, instruments, starting and stopping measure,
text notes, and pitch. These changes are stored in the
playlist and do not physically change the MIDI file. This
allows you to have multiple versions of the song, even in
the same playlist, without using up all that extra memory.

Why is
there a "!" before my playlist name?
A "!" before your playlist warns you that there are no
valid songs in the playlist.

Does
ittyMIDI Player support type 0 MIDI files?
Yes, we use the standard Palm OS® SMF Database format.
Files larger than 60K are stored in another database, but
they are also natively Type 0.

the PDA.
